This sauce was developed in Miami Florida in the 40's by the family. This sauce has been a Nelson family staple since way back then. Tillman Lee Nelson's Grandmother Ann Nelson taught him the recipe and that is where it all started! This sauce is described as a Sweet-Tangy southern style BBQ sauce. Its sweet but not as sweet as the others, then tangy with that vinegar note. Tillman's competition BBQ team will mix all 3 flavors over low heat to create a unique profile that we use when we are competing in BBQ competitions.
